Yahoo! Widgets v4.5, more than 4000 Widgets to choose from
With the extra cycles my "re-freshed" portable has, I decided to re-visit a tool I used before it became known as, "Yahoo! Widgets". I'm happy to say, in its present incarnation, Yahoo! Widgets is working well on both my desktop PC and laptop. Mac OSX 10.3.9 and up are supported too. http://www.widgets.yahoo.com/
As you can see from the screen capture from my notebook computer, I'm using the analog clock and weather Widgets. Other Widgets I could add include: games, web cams, radio, scoreboards, calendars, mood rings, battery monitor, stock ticker, job timer (I just installed this Widget), and many, many more.
Yahoo! also provides tools for individuals and developers who want to get started creating their own Widgets, http://widgets.yahoo.com/tools/. Yahoo! Widgets System Requirements: Windows XP SP2, 2000 SP4, Windows Vista, Mac OSX 10.3.9 and up.
CCleaner helped me performance tune both my desktop PC and notebook computer to the point that, I can now use StarDock and Yahoo! Widgets without any noticeable system hit. My computers run smoother, the desktops look cooler, my applications are more manageable and computing is more fun.
